“…What we believe in, We have time for…”

February 24, 2010

“Our calendar is our creed. What we believe in,

we have time for.”  Mary Bevis

Here’s my version:

“Our Checkbook is our Creed:

What we believe in, we have money for.”

There are always things we wish we could buy… things we know we couldn’t live without, but… well, there’s that little matter of the checkbook. I’ve put off  purchases lately. I’d love to have that iPhone, but my Palm Pre is working just fine. I’d love the new iPad, while we are “i-ing” things, but again, none of it resonates as a “must have.” It’s easy for me to talk myself out of them. I bought everything I needed last decade.

Then something caught my eye. I decided to get onboard with a few cool new online marketing tools. I notice these days I’m more interested in buying knowledge and comfort. Information to make my business better; items to make my travel easier. Other’n that, eh…  Stuff needs to be dusted, cleaned, worried about, and managed. Experience is forever.

Stuff needs to be dusted, cleaned, worried about, and managed. Experience is forever.

Here’s a quote to ponder next time you are thinking about buying stuff:

“Going to a junk yard is a sobering experience. There you can see the ultimate destination of almost everything we desire.”
