I love the thought of learning something that scares you a little. And to keep doing it. It's how we push ourselves. I just watched on the news today something that makes me think of this. A fitness coach was being interviewed and was asked: What can a woman do if, even though she's eating right and exercising regularly, she's not losing weight?" The coach told the TV anchor, "The woman should do something different, and she needs to push herself." She explained that women don't push themselves when they exercise. She said they'll do the half-hour on weights, but they won't work to exhaustion like men do. She suggested this woman should work herself to exhaustion. Are women afraid of doing that? Maybe. I don't know. But I think it's good advice. It makes me think of your professor's advice to do something that scares you. When you do, you're pushing yourself. And isn't that the only way we can tell what we're really about on the inside?
