Quotables ~ Einstein

October 19, 2009

Einstein said it….

“The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.”

“If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk?”

“I don’t know what weapons World War Three will be fought with, but World War four will be fought with sticks and stones.”

“Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted.”

How could anyone do better than choosing a resilience theme? I read you are recovering and wish you well. About A. Einstein, I love his appreciation of humor, and the fact that he kept his imagination in good working order. In fact, he is reputed to have valued imagination above facts. Go Einstein!

Hi Beth – yeah, this was a big deal because they went in through my throat. Since I’m a professional speaker and the possibility of losing that was there… it was a little spooky. I haven’t had a lot of surgery where they put you under for 4 hours, so that was spooky too. And, I’m ok. The posts on the blog were scheduled weeks ago, so I’m just getting around to posting a Post-Op blog. But still on meds, so not sure how cogent it would be… LOL

    thanks for the note!

Hey, how are you? I had no idea you were going in for surgery. I guess I lost your feed and haven’t been getting your updates.

I take it you are back at home now? How is everything going? I’ve had so many surgeries that I probably don’t take them as seriously as I should. Your post about considering that each day could be your last is poignant and very well taken. I’ll try to remind myself that each day, whether I’m having surgery or not.
