Having a Bad Day? 41 Bits of Good News
Are you tired of bad news? Are the commentators and pundits making you crazy? Me too. One bit of advice I give in every speech is to stop listening to pundits. Go find the facts yourself and make up your OWN mind about what’s going on in the world.
Want to know about the latest crime statistics? Did you know we are using less oil than 30 years ago? Did you know the abortion rate is down? Volunteerism is up? Dow and Nasdaq are on their way back up? Overall crime and school violence are both down? Of course you might not know. Those are headlines that don’t sell newspapers. So we are regaled with all the bad news every day.
One of my favorite ezine authors is fellow speaker Jeff Thredgold, CSP. He is a no-nonsense, practical, and highly intelligent economist who actually tells us what’s going on in simple English. When the rest of the world is engaging in hand-wringing, I can count on Jeff’s clear-eyed analysis of what’s what.
So – with glee, I opened up his email this morning entitled “Happy Talk” in which he gives 41 statistics about the world that are good news. Please enjoy the article, and subscribe. It will keep you sane!
And if you have any good news you want to add, send them to me! I’d love to post them!

Oh – I have one more… I just saw my little grandbaby, Ariah, in Hawaii this week. When I saw her the first time, she was only a month old. Now she’s a happy, bouncing, energetic little 6 month old bundle of joy. Mom, baby, and aunties are all doing great. Now THAT’s good news! She’s a typical Hawaii baby… ten different races – the whole United Nations in one tiny package. “Mixed Plate” and full of spunk.

Our Little United Nations Baby
Have a Happy week!
And remember, just ‘cuz they say it on TV doesn’t make it so!
Keep the faith, keep on keepin’ on,
Blessings,
Beth
