I love this post. I actually had a related conversation with Michael a few nights ago. He said he wished Al Gore had won the election and then we wouldn't have had 8 years of George Bush. He said he knew for sure we'd be better off if Bush had not been president. And while I can see his point and certainly voted for Gore myself, I have no desire to change history. I think things work out the way they do for a reason. Look what Gore has been able to achieve in his new career as environmental activist. He has found his true place and purpose in this world because he was able to take a disappointment of losing and create something positive out of it.

I truly believe that our world is what we make of it and that we humans give meaning to events, not the other way around. Anything can be seen as positive or negative -- it's all in how we look at it and what actions we take.

And yeah, I was disappointed that Adam came in second because I love, love, love him! But I do know that he's probably better off with this result.
