Magnificent Garden Triggers the Imagination: Sunday Musings
Bruno Torfs sees things you don’t. He looks at a tree and sees a woman riding a unicorn, or an imp spying on a frog. No, he hasn’t gotten into the medicine cabinet, he’s a woodcarver extraordinaire.
Not only will these carvings amaze and delight you, they are a profound meditation on life.
The one that struck me the most were the beggars – they are in the lush forest, filled with abundance, yet they face away from it, impoverished and blind to possibilities.

A wonderful metaphor for most of the human race…
Especially Americans. We struggle with our recession, yet we are STILL surrounded by possibility and abundance. It’s a poverty of spirit and soul: our backs to our heritage and our abilities; hoping for ‘that one big break’ not understanding that immigrants call that one big break “living in America.”
Bruno Torfs embodies the spirit of possibility!

Amazing art, indeed, Beth. If I learn how to do it, I’ll retweet this on Twitter. Sheesh, that social networking outlet makes speaking more difficult, doesn’t it. (smile)
Thanks for tuning me into this guy, Bruno. Never heard of him before. Love what you said about the piece above. Did you photograph that yourself? Lovely.
I’m also going to post a link to your site on mine.
All my best,
Jackie
