Making Sense of the Political Minefields
Have you had this happen?
You say thoughtfully, “Well, I think this candidate makes a lot of sense. I’ll probably vote for them.” Then you are subjected to:
“ARE YOU CRAZY? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? DON’T YOU READ ANYTHING? I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU COULD POSSIBLY THINK THAT!!!!!!!!” ;-S
In the last decade or two we’ve become a nation full of crazy people screaming at each other. No one can bring up ‘sensitive topics’ without having someone get offended, angry, righteous, or downright nasty.
In an effort to help everyone figure out what’s true in the press and the blogs, I thought I’d pass on two websites that have proven themselves to be fair and usually unbiased in their reporting of what really happened. What I like about both of these sites is that they don’t take sides, and, if they don’t know what’s at the bottom of the story, they just tell you.
So the next time you see a political ad.
The next time you hear some weird internet rumor about anything.
The next time someone swears to you that this is the absolute, irrefutable truth, go to these sites and read the back story for yourself. Then make up your own mind.
And everybody, can we all try and refrain from friendship-ending conversations about politics?
Thanks.
Have a great weekend!

I LOVE Snopes.com! I use snopes as a verb just like I do Google! I always wind up learning so much from the research they put into bringing the facts to light.
Beth, I love the new site and your new “handle”! Here’s to wrangling the tough issues and bringing your trademark wisdom to light!
Onward and upward!
